Anglican Women's Empowerment

Update on the following paragraph: Rev. Rose sent us a DVD of interviews with young girls who were in violent situations, which we showed at the November 2007 meeting.

We have received a letter from The Rev. Margaret Rose, Director of Women's Ministries and Convener of Anglican Women's Empowerment (AWE), thanking us for our support of AWE, and describing the participation of AWE representatives at the 51st United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in March, 2007. Rev. Rose reports,

A significant outcome of our time together was the statement from the entire delegation reiterating their ...

unequivocal commitment to remaining always in 'communion' with and for one another...to pursue and fulfill God's mission in all we say and do. Given the global tensions so evident in our Church today, we do not accept that there is any one issue of difference or contention that can, or indeed would ever cause us to break our unity as represented by our common baptism. Neither would we ever consider severing the deep abiding bonds of affection which characterize our relationships as Anglican women.
