Casseroles Cooks (recipes)

1st Sunday

County Jail Ministry

Saturdays from 8:45 AM to 10 AM
Lay ministers visit inmates in the County Jail to give Bibles, books, and note cards, as well as provide a listening ear to the inmates.

Environmental Stewards

Episcopal Peace Fellowship

4th Mondays, 7:30-9:00 PM, Parlor
Triangle-wide chapter of national EPF, usually meets at St. Philip's. Open to all interested in a positive Christian response to issues of war, conscription, coercion, violence, discrimination, and other brokenness in our world. EPF is committed to peace, justice, reconciliation, and non-violence.

Habitat for Humanity

Builds homes for low-income families and sells them at no interest and with no down payment. Lay ministers are needed to help raise funds, choose building sites, select families, and build the homes.

Hispanic Ministry

El Hogar Latino de Iglesia San Felipe provides transportation to doctor's appointments, tutoring, and to other important meetings. Knowledge of Spanish helpful, but not required.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)

Provides housing for homeless families at St. Philip's for one week six times a year. Lay ministers help load/unload the truck that moves families from church to church; set up rooms, provide and/or host an evening meal; and spend the night at the church.

Kids Reaching Out

Outreach ministry for youth (ages 5-12). Meets 4 times/year. Adult help is needed with planning, support, and supplies.

St. Philip's House

Helps formerly homeless people learn the skills needed to correct the conditions which caused them to become homeless. Lay ministers assist with the maintenance of the house and property and help with transportation, tutoring, etc.

St. Philip's Lunch Team

4th Saturday 10:15 am

Share Your Christmas

Parishioners sign-up to purchase and wrap a gift for an individual or family. Lay ministers are needed to help coordinate the ministry and the delivery of the gifts.

Strings Attached

Presents concerts & musical-related events at St. Philip's to raise funds for & awareness of those in need within our urban community. All are welcome, with no experience required, to plan, promote, publicize, sell tickets & refreshments.

Stuffed Animal Committee

This committee collects toys and stuffed animals for distribution to needy children worldwide. Lay ministers are needed to make requests for donated toys, collect and clean toys, repair toys, locate places for distribution, pack and mail toys, and write letters of thanks

Urban Ministries of Durham

UMD provides meals for hungry people, shelter for homeless persons and families, and food and clothing.  There are numerous ministry opportunities, including preparing a monthly casserole. Our recipes are available.
